Wildfire Kimchi Egg Rolls

Today we are sharing with you one of our favorite and simplest recipes in the Live Cultures FFs cookbook.  Wildfire Kimchi Egg Rolls!  It’s great for parties or as a late night snack.  Your belly will surely thank you for making this little treat.  No need to worry about breaking out the fryer to make these egg rolls.  They taste just as good baked!!!IMG_9737

What you will need:

  • 1 jar of Wildfire Kimchi
  • Egg Roll Wraps ( we use Twin Dragon Egg Roll wraps)
  • Strainer
  • Bowl to catch kimchi brine
  • tbsp measuring spoon
  • Cookie tray
  • cilantro or green onions for garnish
  • Your favorite dipping sauce ( We like using a sweet and sour sauce)


Recipe: Prep: 20 min. / Bake: 12-15min / Makes: 6 egg rolls / 

Preheat Oven to 425° F if baking.  If Frying make sure oil is contained at 350° F. ( use Thermometer to make sure it doesn’t cool down or get too hot)

First things first, lets grab our Wildfire Kimchi and drain all the brine out of it.  Set aside brine.  It makes for a great probiotic shot to do with friends and pairs well with the egg rolls!IMG_9734

Next, you will want to grab your favorite egg roll wraps.  They are fairly cheap and can be found near the miso or chilled vegetarian area of your local grocery store.  1 Jar of Wildfire Kimchi makes 6 egg rolls.   You can refrigerate the rest or place them in a ziplock bag and throw them in the freezer.

Each egg roll will use 3 tbsp of Wildfire Kimchi.  For easiest wrapping we like to face a point of the wrap directly at us as demonstrated below.  Have your water handy so that you can moisten the edges of the wrap when you are folding.


Once you have your Wildfire kimchi in the center of the egg roll you will pull the bottom corner up over the kimchi. Tuck it under the kimchi just slightly.IMG_9744

Now grab the left corner of the egg roll and pull it towards the center of the egg roll/kimchi space.  When pulling the corner in, I like to make sure everything is pushed in and tight so that no juice can come out of the corners.IMG_9745

Do the same with the right side.IMG_9746

Roll the egg roll away from you and moisten the wrap with water where the top corner will fold over.  They should look nice and tucked to gather when they are finished.

Place on cookie sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until crispy and brown on the outside!  Plate the egg rolls with your favorite dipping sauce, top with green onions or cilantro, and serve with a shot of Kimchi!  This way you still make your gut buddies happy as well as treating yourself!
